Women’s Retreat Prayer – Lost in His Love, July 10, 2010
We fervently pray for Ascension Lutheran Church:
Filled with gratitude, we thank God for the ministry of Ascension for more than 50 years.
We thank God for our diversity of cultures, backgrounds, ages, and ministries and for our common bond as children of God and lovers of Jesus.
We pray for volunteers to be moved to work with our youth who no longer have a Youth Minister to meet their needs.
We pray for volunteers to coordinate and visit those who are home bound and hospitalized.
We pray for our sister congregation – Lamb of God Lutheran Church.
We pray for our church leadership who struggle with serious financial issues and the many demands of an active urban ministry including all of the church council led by Agnes Jones and all of the elders led by Mike Walker.
We pray for all of the Ascension staff and their families: Pastor Hedt, Principal Lucas, Office Manager Gwen Neal, Office staff – Georgiana Lambert and Michelle Dale, Music Minister – David Simmons, Hispanic Minister – Marja Jeffries, Summer Camp Director – Ed Coss, Admissions Coordinator – Janice McAllister, Extended Care Director – Lori Dendi, and all of the teachers – Adam Kampia, Andy House, Lisa Bennefield, Raine Grotte, Russ Davis, Charlotte Kampia, Sherri Bauman, Jennifer Ruff, Jenny DeMaio, Susan Kennedy, and Kim Schiebel.
We thank God that we are “lost in His love” and have the blessed assurance that we are not alone, but are part of a loving community – Ascension Lutheran Church.
We fervently pray for the ministry of Ascension Lutheran School:
(Donna Lucas is attending the Synodical Conference. She asks that we pray for the school.)
We pray:
Praise and Thank God for the gift of Ascension Lutheran School
For the excellent program and curriculum offered to the students
For all our teachers and their dedication to Ascension and the children
For painting of the Fellowship Hall walls and new floor
For bringing two new excellent teachers to teach 1st and 2nd Grade
For a safe and successful completion of our school year
For the new video up on the web-site
Ask God to:
Bless our new school year
Grant us all the necessary funds to carry out the mission of the school
Bless Pastor Hedt and his “GAP’R” bike ride fund raiser
Continue to bring new students to Ascension Lutheran School so our desks
may be full
Bless the summer vacations for our students and faculty
Ask God to deal with different issues that affect our students:
To be with our students that they may show love and kindness to one another
To protect them from the negative aspects of the culture that surrounds them
To help them have a safe, fun and productive summer
To protect our 8th grade graduates as they enter this new stage in their lives
To help our students to be a blessing to all those around them
Ask God to be with the families of Ascension Lutheran School:
To ease financial burdens, so that our families can meet their obligations
For the gift of time in a family and for the time to nurture the relationships in the family
To be with the families that lost a parent this school year, the Beavers and Andersons.
We trust in God’s amazing grace and love in our lives, knowing that He hears and answers our prayers. AMEN
