Be a Victim

“What shall we say, then? That Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness have attained it, that is, a righteousness that is by faith...” (Romans 9:30, ESV)

How tragic it must be to view the Cross as a moving target and yet there are many who will spend their lives searching for it. Is this how we view our God? Is this how we view the scars of our Lord? Does He move the entirety of heaven and earth to bridge the gap between us only to play cruel games?

Certainly not! We often miss the Cross because we believe we are hunters of grace rather than the hunted. We intend to make grace our victim when we are, in fact, its victim.

Saints in Christ, hold still for a moment; quit running, and allow grace to find its target.

Do nothing to contribute, manipulate, or explain; simply experience it, believe it, and treasure it.

The Cross is no accident and you are not covered begrudgingly. The grace that flows from the Cross is determined to find its target at any cost.

Feel it when you hear Absolution.

Feel it when you eat His Body and Drink His Blood.

Feel it when you hear the Gospel.
